Thats just the prototype. The tooling for the skids and other plastics was still been made, they will be white. Sorry feral :)
I prefer white for visibility too.
The aim was to offer carbon as an option. This may happen.

That canopy is not the final shape either. Many are complaining to me that its ugly and want the one seen in the render i posted. KDS agree and have changed it to the way i designed it. My latest design. But the first batch of samples have this shape.

Good re Canopy... KDS should just listen to you and stop fracking with the design.. *SIGH* ''Read this KDS!'

Im not sure its entirely KDS fault, Most helicopter manufacturers have the Canopy OEM design the canopy's and paint jobs. I believe that's where my first concept was changed.
May not have been such a bad thing, It caused me to finish off the design.

So @Glen have you actually prototyped a 12s 3blade system? if so are there any videos?

No and no. To busy getting this thing to market in standard form at the moment.
Im going to send JH my 12s setup and some 385mm blades (i think they might fit std) to test after i have finished testing with it. I want to test stretched with 420mm blades also. If i cant find the limits of the drive train ill see if JH can lol.
I think a tri head 360 is a good alternative to a stretch. But these are all personal projects for the future, if they work well and there is interest im sure kds will offer the parts.

420mm Blades, it will be a 500 sise!

I found some picture of the chase. The first one is with an aluminium first gears and an aluminium motor's bearing. The second one is with a plastic first gears and a carbon motor's bearing. The final Chase will be with plastic and carbon or aluminium? (I prefer aluminium!)

      Picture (aluminium):

      Thanks's! :)

That was THE very first hand made prototype, It is now sitting on my shelf.
The carbon motor mount is half the weight of the alloy, the motor has plenty of cooling with the canopy design. But may use alloy still,, I prefer the carbon.. I also changed the shape.
I believe the front pulley is now plastic, lighter and cheaper. But i much prefer alloy also! I hope to see it offered as option part as per my design. maybe in a range of colours? green pulley.JPG

Well IMO less weight is better. The more grams shaved off the more responsive the heli. If there is no performance or strength advantage i would all ways go the lighter option. How heavy is the helicopter without batteries @Glen?

The bird looks very nice. I'd like to see more of the power transmission system.
