I cant vouch for Zeal... I know @Geena has used them but from reports they are a good blade. I have used align as well (325) and they are above average value in the sense they still fly OK and are very cheap. I used to use them for hard 3d on my mini protos. You can feel the difference between align and halo - expecially in piroflips and tick tocks - the more expensive blades are more responsive and stable/accurate. But for straight line runs, hard turns and balancing the difference is negligible! I have heard the Zeals are a good smaky type blade - ie aggressive on the pitch. And the zeals look angry as well!

I love Zeal blades, and they are all I fly. They are very stiff and aggressive blades, which are very fast off center and have tons of collective pop. They are made for hard 3D, but they are also good for big air and sport flying. before I started flying for Zeal, I was flying Rails, which I really liked too. I also flew Mavrikk G5 wide chords for a while too. I think I actually still have a set of G5 600mm somewhere.

I've studied the Align blades. They come in 325 and 360mm, two colors, and also "B grade" which I assume are slightly blemished.
I see the Zeal blades don't cost much more than the Aligns. Their 350mm are intriguing, I have half a mind to try those just for fun.

I actually started looking at the Zeal blades after you mentioned them in your Baby Gaui thread.
Hmmm...... BTW, don't you have a set of Halo 360s you can't be seen with? (Hee hee! :p)

Ah yes, the $850 Protos Mini package had me drooling, for a minute. I'm not quite ready for that though. (aside from the money) I have more to learn and many more hours to log on the CX450... and the Sim, before I'm ready for a higher class Heli. The CX450 will probably go through a gradual metamorphosis, eventually getting 6S power and maybe even a 3-blade head or a 480 stretch kit, but not right away. The thing is just fine the way it is for now.... until I get to the point of pushing it beyond current limitations. ;)

I know how you feel. I too wouldn't mind snatching up the Gaui X4 II on the classifieds here, I would love to stretch that to a 520/480mm heli.

Like you I am on a similar boat, I got too many projects and commitments. On top of that I am still waiting for parts for this 450 that I am waiting to build. Not sure if it's the slow boat from china or it's the Chinese New year, but it's definitely dragging on. :(

      I'll put it this way:
It took just over 3 weeks to get my CX450 shipped by Singapore Post, and that was during holidays traffic. If you ordered from GoGoRc or someone and they used "economy shipping"... it's slow. How long has it been?

      Hmmm. ...... 4S? 3800rpm?
(3500Kv/ 11:150 .... motor and ESC barely get warm at 3S)
Not sure if tail assy will like it though.

3800 is too much for our helis, it wont last the distance.

      3000HS FBL gov.(sweet spot)

Once you start progressing in your flying style, that's when you'll notice the esc and motor heating up.

Even 6S motor systems can get a bit hot if pushed to it's limits. Probably we wont be able to at this current time, but I'm sure some of the pilots here can.

I still need to check out the governor function in my ESC. There isn't much documentation on it. I'm wondering how much it would drop rpm from 2800. More research is needed here.

2 ways to find out, one is through telemetry, the other is to test it in the air with high load maneuvers. If it bogs then something/s in your power train is not up to par.

Not sure how good the Align ESC governor is, but Kontronik is one of the best ESC govs. But your whole system has to be up to par aswell. A high C rating Lipo 65C/70C, combined with a high torque motor.

I'm about to find out. I'm going to disengage motor from main gear and see what the gov does as far as rpm reduction. I'm not sure how gov will react with my throttle being a "full-on or off" it will be in "Soft start with governor" mode.

      No.....
Gov mode didn't seem to have any effect on speed with no load. I'm about to put blades back on and see what happens. I'm not expecting any change in headspeed.
      (Flight tested-)
I guess gov mode has to be engaged with an FBL that has a working gov function..... Which my yellow mini KBar does not.
I'll just fly it as is.

yeah leave it as it is for now, as you progress later on, you can beef up the electronics then
