I just had a great practice session on Real flight 7. Started with orientations practice, upright and inverted. Then did some upright 8s, forward and backward, then inverted 8s. I am getting the hang of inverted forward 8s but backward inverted is still giving me a fit. After my serious practice was over, I decided to mess around for a few minutes and did some blade scrapes. Not going to try that in real life yet....especially on asphalt. :D

Yes they can be..and a valuable learning tool for beginner and pro alike. :) I am really enjoying Real Flight 7 too. It has definitely replaced Phoenix as my go to simulator.

NeXt sim has the BEST physics overall so far, feels VERY VERY real, you would be surprised how real it feels.. Makes realflight feel like a toy / game.. realflight is still not bad ..

I have heard loads of good things about the NeXt simulator. I am, going to give it a try as soon as I can.

Hi @Geena you are spot on! I like RF too and I like NeXt. RF to me is awesome... Has a nice feel. NeXt probably is more technical on the physics, you have to set up the heli right though!. If you want some tips on inverted flying, I know the 3d Heligod has some awesome methods..

Geena, did you have RF 6.5 before RF7. If so, how do they compare?

No Mark. I was using Phoenix 4 before Real Flight 7 but switched to Phoenix 5 after they got it sorted out. I do like Real Flight 7 more than Phoenix though. After flying RF7 for a few months, going back to Phoenix seems way too easy to me.

I'm on RF 6.5 and was just wondering if 7 is any better. I too prefer RF over Phoenix. Thanks for getting back to me Geena.

One of the neat things I like about RF7, aside from the better (in my opinion) physics. Is the ability to knock the canopy off of the helicopter and fly without it.

I never fly "naked", but that is an option with RF.

It's not an option in 6.5 (haven't flown RF7), but a hard bump can knock it free, then you finish the pack off naked (your heli that is)

If you turn the flap knob, the canopy drops off in RF 6.5. (I'm flying a Rush model, and that's how it works for me)

Mine doesn't, I just checked. I fly a Synergy 7 from the list. Might be a custom option?
      Do you have any ideas?

Do you have this option @Geena , I thought the canopy off was only after a nose touch, I am probably wrong, or missed something simple

Might be a result of the Rush model not being a stock RF model. If you pm me your email address I can try to send you the Rush model to try in your sim.

You have to press the F key to knock it off. Most of the time it knocks the canopy off on the first try. But sometimes it causes other failures before it cycles back to knocking the canopy off.

Yes @Geena thats right. Pressing the F key causes a failure. You can make the failure random or you can make the failure be a specific function of the helicopter.
