So what is your favorite brand rc helicopter? Why is this brand your favorite?

For me, at the moment, 450 is mini protos, and 700 size is Diablo. I like the MiniP because its just so versatile and flys pack after pack of smak without complaining. The 700 Diablo is a dream machine for smak and speed. Just a great helicopter all round...

I'll be interested in what you have to say about the Carbon, I have 2 version 1's (which I love), as for the first point, of course you know, we all know....

I miss my Outrage G5 the most... great memories and smooth as glass. I learned a lot with that heli.

Goblin 700 was awesome, too.. but at the time the price tag on repairs was too intimidating for me.

I'd like to have a crack at another one when the 380 comes out :)

My favourite brand is Gartt. Their 700 DFC is awesome.

      - Align $30 stretch kit fits perfect
      - They use awesome NMB bearings
      - They make $48 700 class 4.2kW motor with NMB bearings powering my 800 heli
      - replacing some parts with Align ($30 swash, main gear, ball links from Trekker) is not a problem for me
      - I can use all KDE, Quick upgrades created for Align 700
      - I can use any servos, ESCs, motors etc. I want
      - Actually I can use any Align 700 part I want
      - Did I mention you can get naked kit withiut canopy for $175?
      - I love 700 fusuno canopies and they fit.
      - I can use $4 plastic HK600GT canopy for casual flying, compare with cost of Goblin 700 or 770 canopy and boom...
      - It was a lot of fun prooving at helifreak that this kit is good start point to build 800 heli
      - now I have four of those kits and have parts to stretc all of them to 800. Actually I have two 800 flying and one as 700
      - recently awesome TGY 815 and 805 servos became available which are cheapnas dirt.
      - with Vbar clone it flies awesome
      - I fly it since January and have nothing to complain about. Last time yesterday at higher RPM.
      - Protos Max is much more problematic with 800 mm blades. Just type in Google: "800 just wont hold in 1 piece"

Seems to be a nice, less expensive alternative... you seem to have a lot of Align parts in it.

Have you had the pleasure of flying anything else before? :)

Everyone was saying I am crazy and that Assault will explode in flight...

Watch this video recorded by my friend Benji yesterday (Align 800MX motor):

You are right I have few Align parts: swash, main gear, longer tail from stretch kit, Trekker ball links, skids.

Anyway I use Assault main gear, tail boom and TT and skids in my HK600GT stretched to 700 without any issues. This heli has weight like TDR 2.95kg dry (without lipos).
      Google: "For me Align wins"

Keep in mind this clone frame is now 800 class heli. I bet cheapest 800 around.

I have tons of flying toys. Nano CP X - my favourite micro, m CP X BL, 450 PRO DFC, Gaui X5, Align 600 PRO EFL, four helis based on HK600GT with trekker or Assault main gears and RJX FBL heads, four Gartts (Assault).

Lately I enjoy planks a lot. I have many Precision Aerobatics planes: three Extra 260, Extra MX, Mini Katana, Ultimate AMR, Katana MX, many Multiplex planks: Gemini, Mentor, Fun Cub, Cularis. Kyosho Edge 540 balsa 1.47m.

I have Phantom sailing boat. It can not fly but can sail in one 3S lipo for hours...

Few RC cars from Traxxass and Tamiya. Trust me they CAN fly ; )

Over 50. Just yesterday I ordered two 1.4 and 1.45 P-51 Mustangs. One is balsa second is EPP.

Well thats good to know! If you have a Gaui X5 and an Align 600 but still prefer this---- I might just give it a shot for $175!

I need a huge machine to beat around carelessly!

I also learned a lot of stuff with an old Blade Nano CPX! Indestructible little mofo

Okay so I would list every model i've owned in my RC career, but i'd spend a lot of time trying to remember them all so heres the gist of the heli list:

      Goblin 700
      Goblin 630
      Goblin 500
      Outrage G5
      Align 700E DFC Pro
      Align 550E DFC Pro
      Align 450E DFC
      MSH Mini Protos
      Blade 550X
Blade 500X ----- I confess. I was a Blade fan boy at the start of my heli days lol
      Blade 450X
      Blade 300X
Blade 130X (which i still own but converted to 3S)
Blade mCPX BL (and the old tail blowing brushed one I put a chit load of money into to convet into brushless before the official one came out)
      Blade Nano CPX

and well what I have in my signature are what is sitting in my hangar at the moment--I get away with having the Blackout MiniH cause its a "drone" that takes pictures :D

My wife/boss doesnt let me have more than three models anymore. LoL

It got a little out of hand at the beginning

Oh-- I have a Parkzone Visionaire I love to fly and a huge Alitalia CAP 232 gas powered plank that is just sitting in my garage that I oughta sell...

Far as RC cars I have a 1/10 scale Xray T4 touring car and a VBC Wildfire D06 Dynamics Edition that I race at a local club.

      THats it in a nutshell

X5 is awesome. I like narrow mainframe design. It is low weight. Unfortunately I totaled it recently. Aluminium servo mount broke in flight. Result was broken frame. Repair would cost more than Assauit kit.

$170 is price you can negotiate with Gart manager if you buy kit without canopy. His name is Alvin Lau. Anyway Assault canopy is nice... And $215 for Assault is good price.

Keep in mind Align 700 DFC combos older versions are on sale for $900 now. With $30 stretch kit they can be cheaper than clone...

When I started clone 800 "project" cheapest Align 700 was $1300-$1500.

Look how Goblin 700 price dropped from $999 to $600 in last year.

Over the years I've owned Align, HK, Beam and now Alees. My favourite is easily Alees! Aside from the fact that my Alees Rush is the first 700 class machine I have owned, it has a fit and finish that just has to be seen to appreciate it! Parts are well priced, and running maintenance is minimal. And for a 700 class bird, it crashes well... After all, it's built like a tank.

My old Beam Avantgarde 600 was another well built heli that was very nicely finished, but Alees has done things just that little bit better!
